“Dancing is more than just moving body parts; it is a pathway of expressing your deepest inner thoughts.”
— Normani Kordei
Who We Are
Beyond The Skyline was created by two mom best friends who have a passion for dance. We are creating a space for people to feel unapologetically themselves. Being yourself can come in many different forms and ours is through movement. Realizing that your body can make shapes and move in ways you never knew possible, brings out a new sense of awareness for oneself.
We are a mobile studio that specializes in bringing the fun to you! Beyond The Skyline offers Liquid Motion & Pole Instruction. Don’t have a pole? That’s where we come in. We own the best quality stage poles in the country. X-Stage Lites are lighter than the regular stage poles and the best part, they are portable and can be set-up on any flat area!
Don’t forget to check out our calendar, as we will have pop-up workshops that are studio based. Currently, we offer services on the East side of the Hudson Valley River (Beacon, Fishkill, Wappingers Falls, East Fishkill & Poughkeepsie). Other locations coming soon!
Kellie
Kellie walked into her first Liquid Motion class 6 years ago and never looked back. She has since become licensed and certified in the Liquid movement methodology, enamored by the wholeness and power she felt as a result of engaging in creative, sensual movement. She is also Liquid Pole Certified, as well as XPERT certified in Pole levels 1&2 after poling for 8 years.
One of Kellies proudest moments was dancing throughout her pregnancy and experiencing the shifts in her movement practice that came with each trimester. She loves to dance and move within this supportive, inclusive community. Her goal is to keep that momentum going through teaching exploration of floor work and pole while promoting reflection of each students’ inner strengths.
When she is not teaching, Kellie is a full time mom of 2 of the coolest humans ever. She also loves Venus fly traps, gothic novels, reading Oracle, creating crystal grids, and all things dark and spooky!
Mia
As a child, Mia always had a love for music and dancing. She is a product of recording music from the radio onto a cassette tape and burning CD’s from LimeWire. There were many days she spent with friends making up dance routines to songs. After-school activities included dance, Double Dutch and stepping. As she got older, she moved into different styles and one day in her twenties, she tried Pole. Mia’s first Pole class was at Body & Pole in NYC, and that’s where her Pole journey began.
After having two children, she had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. During COVID she moved to Dutchess County and met Kellie. She took a few of Kellie’s Pole and Liquid Motion classes and here they are now!
When she is not teaching, she is hanging out with her boys. She is very creative and always thinking of new ways to grow. She loves anything crafty and coffee!
